Cracked DS Lite hinges - an update.
July 26th 2006 04:28
The wonderful Vooks.net has given us updated info on the supposed manufacturing problem that has been seen with a few DS Lites:
"Earlier this week Nintendo of America released an official statement on a known issue of the Nintendo DS Lite, where a small number of consoles have had small, purely cosmetic cracks developing on the hinge of the console. According to Nintendo the problem is only effecting 0.02 percent of US users.
Today, Nintendo Australia said any Australians also affected by the cracks can get a replacement console under warranty. It is unlikely however that many (if any) Australians are affected, as the shipment to the United States contained a different batch of Nintendo DS Lite consoles."
So we're covered under warranty in the unlikely event that it happens.
