Wii Release Date to be revealed?
September 7th 2006 00:33
"Three regions of the world, three near-simulaneous press events. The final Wii price and launch date information will almost assuredly be announced, although Nintendo has not officially confirmed that to be the case just yet.
Ever since we all got our hands on the Wii this May at E3, everyone's been clamoring for two more pieces of information: price and date. It appears that the final pieces of the puzzle may be coming together in about two weeks.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has said that the company would make key Wii announcements in the month of September. Now Nintendo has made it clear that it will be holding three near-simultaneous video game events across the globe. On September 14, Nintendo's presence will be felt in New York City, as Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime hosts a "Celebration of Video Games." In addition, over in Japan on the same day the company will be holding another Wii event. Then, across the pond in London, European press will be attending another Nintendo Wii event on September 15, according to Eurogamer.
Although Nintendo has not come right out and confirmed that these events will definitely be the venues for the final Wii launch date and price announcements, it seems highly probable that the company will indeed take the opportunity to reveal the launch information to the world. After all, why go out of the way to set up three events in three regions of the world if it isn't big news? [to create more hype? - Ed.] Nintendo's exact launch plans for each territory will likely be revealed once and for all at the respective locations.
Two weeks to go and all shall become clear. GameDaily will be there to bring you all there is to know about Wii.
That snippet is thanks, of course, to GameDaily, and you can read it here.
I guess in two week's wii'll finally know!
